Psychologist Sharon Brandli
With over eight years of experience as a psychologist, I bring both professional knowledge and genuine life experience to my work with clients. I completed my psychology degree later in life while balancing work and raising children, which has given me a strong appreciation for the challenges, pressures, and emotional demands that people can face throughout life.
I am passionate about helping people heal from trauma and the lasting impacts it can have on emotions, relationships, self-worth, and daily functioning. I understand that trauma can leave people feeling overwhelmed, disconnected, stuck in survival mode, or struggling to feel safe within themselves and their relationships. I believe that healing is possible when people feel genuinely heard, understood, and supported within a safe therapeutic relationship.
My approach is warm, client-centred, and collaborative. I aim to create a respectful, compassionate, and non-judgemental environment where clients feel comfortable exploring their experiences and working towards meaningful change at their own pace. I work alongside clients to better understand the patterns and experiences contributing to their difficulties, while helping them develop practical coping strategies, emotional resilience, self-compassion, and a stronger sense of connection with themselves and others. My goal is to support clients not only to manage symptoms, but to build a more fulfilling, balanced, and meaningful life.
I draw from a range of evidence-based therapeutic approaches including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), and Motivational Interviewing, all grounded within a Compassion-Focused Therapy framework.
